DIRECT MESSAGE - CUSTOMER BOOKING, CANCELLATION & REFUND TERMS

1. Platform role
Direct Message provides the technology through which customers can discover events and, where enabled, book or purchase tickets. Unless expressly stated otherwise, the event, ticket and underlying service are supplied by the named Business or Organiser. Direct Message is not the event organiser merely because its platform or payment technology is used.

2. Ticket price and Direct Message fee
The checkout will show the ticket price and any Direct Message platform/booking fee before payment. Direct Message's standard platform fee for ticket sales is intended to be 3% of the ticket price, subject to any clearly disclosed VAT treatment and any event-specific commercial terms.

3. Cancellation by customer
All ticket purchases made through the DM Garden Route Guide™ app are final.
Tickets cannot be cancelled by the customer through the app, and DM does not accept customer-initiated cancellations or refund requests based solely on a change of plans, inability to attend, personal circumstances or any other reason initiated by the customer.
Once payment has been successfully completed, the ticket purchase is considered final and no refund will be issued, except where a refund is expressly provided for under these Terms or is required by applicable South African law.

4. Event cancellation
If the organiser cancels or materially changes an event, the organiser is responsible for the applicable customer remedy, including refunds where required by law or the organiser's disclosed terms.
If an Event Organiser cancels an event, customers who purchased tickets through the DM Garden Route Guide™ app may be eligible for a refund of the actual ticket price paid for the cancelled event.
Direct Message is not responsible for the decision to cancel an event and does not determine whether an event should be cancelled.
Where an event is cancelled, the refund will be limited to the actual ticket price paid for the ticket. Any Paystack payment or transaction fees, Direct Message platform fees or commissions, booking fees or other applicable processing charges are non-refundable and will not form part of the refund amount, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

5. Refunds
Where a refund is due, the refund amount and treatment of any platform fee will be determined by the applicable transaction terms and law. Direct Message does not guarantee that a customer is entitled to a refund.
Refunds are only available in circumstances expressly provided for in these Terms, principally where an Event Organiser cancels an event, subject always to any mandatory consumer rights under South African law.
Where a refund is approved following the cancellation of an event, only the actual ticket price will be refunded. Paystack fees, Direct Message platform fees or commissions and any other non-refundable transaction or processing charges will not be refunded, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

6. Statutory rights
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any consumer right, refund right, cancellation right or other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law.

7. Transaction record
Customers should retain their booking confirmation, receipt, ticket, cancellation request and refund status. Direct Message will provide electronic transaction records as reasonably required by law and the platform's systems.

8. Contact
For event/service issues, cancellations and refund eligibility, contact the relevant Business or Organiser first. For technical payment/platform issues, contact Direct Message at info@directmessage.co.za or WhatsApp (+27) 079 427 6849.
